DAY 118 MONDAY JULY 20 - ANOTHER "SCORCHER"

Olivera showed us the local market before breakfast.  There were second hand goods spread out on the ground and lots of fruit stalls where free samples were being offered.  Malcolm bought a new hat at the Chinese cheap shop and we had another drink at Picasso's Caffe.

Another day of 40C+ was forecast so we changed our modus operandi. We came back to the air-conditioned apartment at 9:30am and stayed inside in the lovely cool environment until 7:30pm.

Two of Olivera's friends paid a visit at different times so we had plenty of time to sit and chat.  They both told us the heat was shocking outside and when Olivera went out for half an hour she said her head was burning from the sun.

After dinner prepared by Olivera we caught a taxi to an ice cream cafe and then another one to City Beach.

There were amusement opportunities everywhere along the river bank, including this reverse angled climbing wall.

The temperature sign on the Chemist shop showed 30C by this time and it felt cooler that that by the riverside.  We came back at 10pm and there were still large numbers of people out walking, jogging and cycling along the magnificent paths along the Danube.
