Another lovely day all day. The captain told us that the cyclonic system we were heading towards had stopped moving and we should miss it.
At noon each day the bridge gives a warning that the horns on the funnel will be tested and when we are on the top deck they are very, very loud. They look like old-time car horns. The funnel is designed to swirl the wind so that smoke does not fall on the ship.
This morning we attended a presentation on musicals over the years and it was very entertaining. It included DoReMi from the Sound of Music and I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. The audience tried to sing along.
In the afternoon there was a concert of classical music by a flautist and a pianist. They started with Papageno's aria from the Magic Flute, which we had heard performed live in Stockholm in 2012. Very enjoyable.
Yesterday the Captain announced a death had occurred on board. Not an unusual event, but in this case it was a 28 year old crew member who died in his sleep. Today an appeal was set up to support his family in the Philippines.
Tomorrow we arrive at Port Louis in Mauritius and do a bus tour of the coast.
