DAY 21 TUESDAY APRIL 14 EUROPEAN CULTURE AT SEA

Full day at sea off the coast of South Africa today, but plenty of interesting activities.  At 11:15 David Campese answered questions from the audience and showed how to pass and kick the football.  He blamed the spate of concussions on incorrect tackling techniques, and bemoaned the use of scrum pushovers for tries and penalty tries.  Many good points were made.  The blacks cannot afford to watch pay TV so do not take up the sport as children.

Then at 12:15 Malcolm MacFarlane gave another singer's biography, Frank Sinatra.  At 1pm we raced up to Deck 8 terrace where three of the chefs were demonstrating ice sculpture carving.

At 2pm Rosie and Sarah, the flute and piano players gave their last concert, including "Home Away From Home".  In our cabin we watched a 2013 film of Romeo and Juliet.  After a dinner with Geoff and Joan we went to "Your Three Tenors" who were from New York Opera and gave a mixed selection of arias, Italian songs and show music, including "Bring Him Home".  We seem to get  something from Les Miserables every day.  That compensates for missing the show in Sydney while we are away.  They finished with what we expected:

Nessun Dorma.  So off to bed.
