DAY 11 SATURDAY APRIL 4 - TUG OF WAR DAY

We got up early enough to watch the sun come up again.  The horizon was cloudy, but the sun shone through.

At breakfast we talked to a couple from Leeds, who seem to be regulars on Cunard ships.  They told us that if we had through tickets on country trains we could transit London on the tube without buying a local ticket.  We will check this at Southampton.

At 11am we went to the top deck to watch teams from the crew compete in the Annual Tug of War contest.
The housekeepers were the crowd favourites (in the yellow jackets), but they were all small. The burly bar staff won the prize for the fifth year running.  The photography staff were actually booed.

People were playing Racquet Ball on this deck also.

Lyn changed her library book and we sat in the sun on deck chairs, reading, like so many others today.  Malcolm read an extensive description of the Battle of Waterloo from "Les Miserables", and before dinner we watched the end of "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly".

After dinner we went to the Wintergarden and listened to an incredibly good pianist play tunes from the movies, including "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", and sat in on a Trivia Quiz.  As we went to bed the movie "Mama Mia" was finishing and they were singing "Waterloo".

A very good day at sea.  We saw the occasional low flying bird but we have not yet found any wreckage from the Malaysian plane crash.
