We spent today getting to know the town and shopping. We were looking for the best places to go to.
A lot of places were closed but we were well catered for in the boulangerie and the supermarket. We called in to the Information Centre and found the woman quite unhelpful. She seemed to take delight in telling us that the bus to Evian only runs on weekends at the moment. Two English ladies were coming out as we went in and they seemed just as disappointed as we were about the buses. The woman made no attempt to give us any information and only after we asked did she give us the name of the taxi driver in the town. Fortunately the Kings have left us more than enough suggestions for activities here.
We had made no definite plans, but the lack of buses means we will do local walks for the next three days and travel to Evian on Saturday and Sunday. We will need to book the taxi for Monday morning when we leave. These little carvings outside the Information Centre caught our eye.
The weather has been damp and misty all day, so we enjoyed just pottering around this afternoon.
